PCBS Residential Services provide assistance and necessary support to achieve personal outcomes that enhance an individual’s ability to live in and participate in their community. A team of qualified professionals work with the person, and their support network, to determine the best arrangement to help meet their unique goals. Services are designed to assist individuals in acquiring, retaining and improving the self-help, socialization and adaptive skills necessary to reside successfully in home and community-based settings.

Residential services may also include assistance with activities of daily living and assistance with instrumental activities of daily living, depending upon the needs of the individual. Services may include up to 24 hours of support daily as specified in his/her individual plan. PCBS Residential services are accredited by CARF, an international accrediting body.

All residential staff members have, at minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent and have passed background checks with the Missouri Highway Patrol and the Missouri Family Care Registry. Additionally they hold certificates in CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, and behavior supports. All staff members are also provided with on-the-job and in-service training on such topics as prevention and reporting of abuse, neglect, and misuse of funds of persons served, positive behavior supports, rights of persons served, and confidentiality.

The residential programs are licensed through the Missouri Department of Mental Health and primarily funded through the Home and Community Based Waiver. In order to receive full funding, referrals for residential services must come through the Kansas City Regional Office.
